Workiva, a cloud-based productivity platform for enterprises, recently announced its entry to the UN Global Compact CFO Taskforce for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Investment and Finance. It became the first SaaS company to enter the list, with Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jill Klindt, joining the task force.
The UN CFO Taskforce serves as a platform for CFOs to interact with investors, financial institutions, and peers to share ideas, develop frameworks and provide recommendations to unlock private capital and create a market for mainstream SDG investments. It recognizes that CFOs are uniquely positioned to reshape the future of corporate finance and investment, catalyzing growth, value creation, and social impact.
Here are the CFO principles on Integrated SDG Investment and Finance. In a press release, Workiva stated that it would work alongside its peers to guide companies in aligning their sustainability goals and commitments with credible corporate finance strategies. Workiva was also ranked 50 in the Fortune Best Workplaces for Millennials 2021.
Commenting on the entry to the taskforce, Klindt stated that Workiva aspires to create a better tomorrow by transparently reporting financial and non-financial data and added,
