project44 acquires customer experience provider Convey for $255M to become a definitive global leader in modern digital supply chain technology. It said that the new AI capabilities from Convey would improve collaboration, bolster workflow automation and defend against business disruption with end-to-end visibility and predictive order intelligence.
Unicorn company project44, a supply chain visibility provider, acquired Convey, an Austin-based customer delivery experience provider, for $255 million to become a definitive global leader in modern digital supply chain technology, a press release from project 44 said.
Convey is project44’s third acquisition in 2021, with the previous one being ClearMetal in May and Ocean Insights in March. Project44 stated that the Convey acquisition solidifies its position as the acquirer of choice for Generation 2 logistics technology companies. Together, with the other two acquisitions-enabled tech stacks, project 44 said it would rapidly reuse componentry within its platform in a shorter turn-around time.

Project44 stated that it would work in tandem with Convey to radically change the way companies view, learn and react to downstream changes like shipping delays, ETA changes, COVID-related worker shortages and port closures. It stressed that the added capabilities from Convey, like resolving parcel delivery issues via automated customer communication, would strengthen project44’s suite of workflow solutions.
To sum up, the acquisition facilitates establishing a unified supply chain view, providing managed and superior consumer delivery experience capabilities in e-commerce, streamlining the day-to-day workflows and collaboration between shippers, sellers and carriers, expanding the impact of AI on the supply chain through predictive ETAs and dynamic transit times.
