Personio has revealed that it has raised $200 million in a Series E round led by Greenoaks Capital Management. The recent financing has increased the company’s value to $8.5 billion. Altimeter Capital, Alkeon, Index Ventures, Accel, Meritech, Lightspeed, Northzone, and Global Founders Capital have previously invested in the company.

The funds would be used to expand its customer base — which now stands at 6,000 companies covering over 500,000 employees — and improve its forum, particularly with more automation tools to improve how businesses run internal operations.

“We see that the needs of small and midsize companies are different from enterprises, and the solutions they require are others. Enterprise solutions require dedicated staff that does nothing else but implement and run a tool. We are in a couple of weeks with no extra resources. These solutions are very different,”

Hanno Renner, CEO and co-founder of Personio.

Personio is a company that develops all-in-one HR software for human resources, recruiting, and payroll. Its People Workflow Automation aims to help SMEs that lack the assets to produce their automated workflows.
