SaaS platform Pantheon has raised $100M in Series E funding from SoftBank Vision Fund 2, a round that officially granted it the unicorn status. It plans to use the funding in product development and in accelerating product innovation


Pantheon, a SaaS platform for WebOps developers, marketers and designers, attains the unicorn tag, raising $100 million in Series E funding from SoftBank Vision Fund 2 at a valuation of over $1 billion. This round takes the company’s total funding raised to over $200 million.

In an official statement on its blog, Pantheon stated it is now well-positioned to fulfill its aspirations for WebOps and deliver the best value for its customers. Thanking over 12000 and 2500 of its customers and partners, the company stated that it would grow its product development and customer success teams, accelerate product innovation, and expand its capabilities into personalization and analytics in the coming months.

Commenting on the funding, Zack Rosen, co-founder and CEO of Pantheon, stated that CMO’s today are under growing pressure to achieve better revenue and growth but are being pulled back by their slow and difficult-to-maintain websites.

Pantheon, founded in 2010, aims to find better ways to unlock extraordinary performances for web teams by altering the traditional, time-consuming method of building websites. The SaaS platform aspires to enable organizations of every size and across all industries to create websites that help them achieve their mission.

Commenting on the investment, Vikas Parekh, partner at SoftBank Investment Advisers, stressed that digital transformation had furthered the transition to the cloud for essential business infrastructure. Stating how workflow automation using do-it-yourself SaaS platforms like Pantheon has transformed modern website experiences, Mr. Parekh added,
