NeuReality, an Israeli AI startup, has unveiled NR1-P, a new AI-centric inference platform. For cloud data centers and edge nodes, the startup has been designing high-performance AI computing platforms.

NeuReality’s first implementation of this modern AI-centric architecture, NR1-P, will be followed by others. This prototype platform validates the system and enables consumers to incorporate it into orchestrated data centers and other facilities.

The startup has said that it is designing an AI-centric inference technology built on a new kind of System-on-Chip (SOC) to redefine today’s obsolete AI system architecture. It concentrated on its follow-on NR1 SoC, which would use its unique fusion architecture to provide a 15X performance per dollar boost over deep learning accelerator vendors’ available GPUs and ASICs.

Moshe Tanach, NeuReality’s Founder and CEO, said that the operating cost of ultra-scale computing and storage facilities is also a problem for data center operators and AI-as-a-service customers. When their AI-based features are implemented in development and commonly used, the situation will get even worse. NeuReality’s technologies would be the only way for these customers to scale their deep learning use while keeping the costs down.

As per NeuReality’s benchmark testing, the NR1-P prototype platform has a 2X lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) than NVIDIA’s CPU-centric systems that run disaggregated deep learning services. The new accomplishment paves the way for many more significant enhancements to be incorporated into NeuReality’s flagship product, NR1.

Our technology provides a huge reduction in both CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) and OPEX (Operating Expenditure) for infrastructure owners. Customers using large scale use cases of image processing such as object detection or face recognition can already get 50% saving in the cost of the technology or twice the capacity for the same price when using NR1-P.

In February 2021, NeuReality emerged from stealth with $8 million in seed funding from Cardumen Capital, OurCrowd, and Varana Capital and the addition of AI luminary Dr. Naveen Rao, former General Manager of Intel’s AI Products Group, to NeuReality’s Board of Directors.
