McAfee Enterprise has announced the launch of MVISION Private Access, an integrated strategy for granular ‘Zero Trust’ access and extending data and threat security capabilities to private apps hosted across hybrid IT environments. 

MVISION Private Access disrupts the Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) industry by making data-centricity a key competency of granular “Zero Trust” access to private applications from any location and device, whether in client data centers or hosted in private, public, or hybrid cloud environments. Through McAfee Enterprises endpoint security technology, the solution delivers comprehensive coverage across managed and unmanaged devices and conducts continuous risk assessment by extracting improved device posture information. 

MVISION Private Access may also be combined with MVISION Unified Cloud Edge (UCE) to provide a single low-latency, 99.999 percent available cloud-native platform that offers unified visibility and management across clouds, private apps, the web, and endpoints.

ZTNA is built for cloud-first deployments, simplifying technology stacks, reducing cost and complexity, and improving productivity. However, existing ZTNA solutions lack the data-centric security controls associated with cloud and web security needed to secure today’s increasing remote connections.

According to a Deloitte study of CIOs, 62 percent of workloads will be in the cloud by the end of 2021, up from 41% in 2019. Workloads will be divided across public, private, and hybrid cloud installations.

Christopher Rodriguez, research director, IDC Network Security, said, “As private applications increasingly move to the cloud, organizations are rapidly adopting Zero Trust Network Access due to its security and flexibility advantages compared to VPN. However, organizations need to recognize that private applications are just as likely to pose a data theft risk as SaaS apps and that this risk needs to be mitigated.”    

MVISION Private Access also interacts with IAM (Identity and Access Management) and MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) systems, allowing for robust authentication for application access and augmenting context-based access restrictions. This removes the danger of threat actors accessing corporate networks using compromised devices or user credentials, thereby eliminating an attack.
