Mandiant acquires Intrigue to integrate its technology and Attack Surface Management Capabilities into its Mandiant Advantage SaaS platform. The deal would help organizations manage risk across their entire attack surfaces

Mandiant, an information security company part of FireEye focusing on incident response, has announced its acquisition of Intrigue Corporation, a provider of Attack Surface Management (ASM) technology, to further the capabilities of Mandiant Advantage SaaS platform.

In an official announcement on the FireEye blog, Colby DeRodeff, chief technology officer of Mandiant Advantage, stated that ASM is quickly emerging today, driving value through asset and exposure visibility in internet-facing attack surfaces. Stating that Intrigue stood out from others in the ASM space, Colby expressed excitement at welcoming Jonathan Cran aboard the Mandiant team.

In a press release, Mandiant stressed that the combination of its in-class intelligence and Intrigue’s powerful attack surface discovery capabilities would help deliver a deeper understanding of risk across multi-cloud, hybrid, and on-premise environments. Additionally, with Intrigue’s help, Mandiant’s customers could address critical gaps in their security programs by leveraging the latest ASM capabilities in an easy-to-use SaaS platform.

Mandiant said it would expand its SaaS capabilities in conjunction with the other modules currently offered through its Mandiant Advantage platforms, such as Mandiant Threat Intelligence, Security Validation and Automated Defense.

We are excited to welcome the Intrigue team to Mandiant. Intrigue is a strategic and immediately impactful addition to the Mandiant Advantage platform. Discovering and continuously monitoring the dynamic attack surface of a modern cloud-enabled organization is critical to assess risk and prioritize response. Mandiant knows what adversaries are doing right now and what vulnerabilities they are currently exploiting. By combining this intelligence with the capabilities of Intrigue, we are rapidly evolving our customers’ ability to manage risk and prioritize their resources efficiently

Jonathan Cran, founder and CEO of Intrigue, reiterated the company’s vision of providing continuous, in-depth visibility of organizations’ attack surface and risk and added,

We’re beyond excited to bring our capabilities to the Mandiant Advantage platform, accelerating and greatly expanding our mission-driven team’s impact. I believe our combined capabilities will enable security teams to gain a significant edge against today’s threats.
