Majority of employees prefer flexibility over four day work week.

Qualtrics research has found that nearly two-thirds of full-time staff (62 percent) would choose the flexibility of working whenever they choose.

As the concept of a four-day work week gains traction in India, new Qualtrics research has found that nearly two-thirds of full-time staff (62 percent) would choose the flexibility of working whenever they choose over one fewer day at work (38 percent ).

With organizations from across the country still refining remote working methods after two years and the central government preparing to enforce four new labor guidelines, the Qualtrics research results emphasize the importance of recognizing employee needs to best integrate initiatives with their requirements and aspirations.

Flexibility means ownership over the hours you want to work for one-third of employees (35%). One-in-five participants (22%) describe flexibility as that of the ability to work from any location, while others (20%) define it as being evaluated by performance rather than hours worked (14 percent ).

“Among the buzz surrounding new working models, employers must not lose sight of the fact that employees want and have come accustomed to the flexibility to adjust their work schedules to fit the demands of their lives. Increasingly, we’re seeing people make career decisions and find fulfillment in their jobs by working for organizations that truly understand and respond to their needs and where they feel they belong. That’s why the most important part of any working model isn’t simply the hours or days worked – it’s being able to understand and meaningfully deliver what people want and expect to ensure everyone benefits from the transformations underway,”
