Huawei and Temenos have teamed up to allow Temeonos’ cloud-native core banking solution on Huawei’s public cloud. It would focus on the APAC region, with a focus on China and other areas. With the move, banks would be able to achieve their go-to-market strategy and open up new business models
Huawei and Temenos, a banking software provider, have partnered to offer Temenos’ cloud-native core banking solution on the Huawei Public Cloud. Temenos said that financial institutions would modernize their core banking systems on Huawei Cloud and benefit from elastic scalability, cost, and other operational efficiencies, due to the move.
The announcement came during the Huawei Intelligence Finance Summit, 2021. Temenos stated that the partnership would combine extensive cloud hosting, implementation and integration strengths of Huawei and Temenos’ banking software to help banks of all sizes go to market faster, open up new business models. The partnership is set to cover the APAC region, emphasizing China and also cover other areas such as Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Philip Barnett, president of strategic growth and member of the executive committee of Temenos, expressed delight at extending its services with Huawei. He stated that such a joint go-to-market strategy would accelerate its market penetration in China and help digital-first and large banks that require core modernization accelerate their cloud adoption.

Temenos said the two companies have a number of existing customers and projects in APAC and an extensive reach into the global financial services market. It added that over 3,000 banking and financial institutions worldwide rely on its cloud-native API technology.
