Haqdarshak, a Pune-based social enterprise startup, has raised Rs 6.65 crore (approx. $0.90 million) in a pre-Series A round led by Acumen Fund and supported by Upaya Social Ventures. The round included participation from the Deepak Group, Impact India Investment Partners, Beyond Capital Fund, Shalini Chhabra, and 3i Partners.

In response to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, the firm announced that it would use the funds to introduce and improve vaccine and health care coverage-focused programs at the last mile via a digital campaign, as well as invest in plug-and-play tech solutions. Migrants, regular wage earners, the urban poor, and rural Indians would be the primary beneficiaries of these programs.

The funds will also be used to hire talented players into execution and tech teams, as well as to improve the existing monitoring and evaluation system.

Our commitment and vision of ensuring every citizen and small business in India get access to government schemes and services is strengthened with this investment. We are focused on our solutions for COVID-19 response, services for MSMEs, and new digital offerings for our last mile. This investment round will help us scale up our core platforms and reach our goal of ensuring 100 million citizens get access to government financial services by 2030.

Haqdarshak’s app was recently released on the Google Play Store.

After its inception in 2016, Haqdarshak has reached out to over one million families and supported 600,000+ beneficiaries of welfare initiatives, resulting in a total profit amount of Rs 500 crore ($67 million).
