Brinqa, a Cyber Risk Management company, has announced that it has secured $110 million as growth capital from Insight Partners, global venture capital and private equity firm. Brinqa, which has been bootstrapped and founder-backed since 2009, has received its first institutional investment to help it scale its company and expand its market.

As a result of this new funding, Brinqa will be better positioned to meet the growing need for flawlessly integrated, highly automated, and risk-based cybersecurity products.

Brinqa applications make use of The Cyber Risk Graph, the industry’s first Knowledge Graph for cybersecurity. They’re designed on a risk-based low-code platform that allows for quick implementation and expansion in high-impact cybersecurity domains, including Cybersecurity Asset Management, Vulnerability Management, Application Security, and Cloud & Container Security.

Enterprises with Brinqa solutions get the most out of existing technology investments while addressing their specific risk tolerance and business issues due to the most complete cybersecurity data integration ecosystem.

The proliferation of ‘best of breed’ point solutions has created the need for a horizontal view of cyber risk across disparate tools, alerts, and sources. Brinqa’s platform enables security teams to leverage a common risk model to proactively identify cybersecurity gaps and automate prioritized risk remediation at the speed of business. We are thrilled to make this investment and bring the full force of Insight’s ScaleUp specialists to help Brinqa in its next phase of growth.

Thomas Krane, principal at Insight Partners

He added that Brinqa is a unique example of a bootstrapped cybersecurity firm whose vision and drive have helped them attract some of the world’s most prestigious clients.

Amad Fida and Hilda Perez, Brinqa’s founders, are cybersecurity veterans with experience creating and leading firms via successful development and acquisition. They saw a serious and rising problem that was neglected due to their extensive experience with large IT and security groups.

We saw that even niche cybersecurity programs required interaction between many systems, teams, and stakeholders, and companies were struggling to connect things. With digital transformation, the number of cybersecurity controls and systems required to monitor and protect an enterprise has increased by magnitudes. While technology is a competitive advantage for businesses, its aggressive adoption has amplified the challenge of bringing it all together in a meaningful way.

Amad Fida, Founder, Brinqa

He added that Brinqa was developed to assist businesses in leveraging enormous and fast-rising data repositories to address the essential task of measuring, operationalizing, and minimizing cyber risk.

Brinqa is based in Austin, Texas, with remote employees and offices in the Bay Area, New York, Buenos Aires, and Bangalore. Brinqa’s platform and apps are used by some of the world’s leading companies.
