Deloitte, an audit, consulting, tax, and advisory services provider, has announced that it has acquired CloudQuest Inc., a cloud security posture management (CSPM) provider, for an undisclosed sum.

Deloitte’s existing cloud cybersecurity products will be bolstered by CloudQuest’s cloud-native security capabilities, allowing them to manage security workflows more easily, minimize risk, and increase data protection.

As organizations work to build or advance their security postures for cloud or hybrid-cloud environments, we’re expanding and diversifying our services and solutions portfolio to help our clients continuously monitor, prevent and remediate security threats,

Vikram Kunchala, advisory principal at Deloitte, US Cloud Security leader.

He added that the worldwide epidemic slowed things, but it had little effect on cloud migration or cloud dependence for the great majority of businesses.

Deloitte’s Cyber Cloud offering will continue to extend its portfolio of cloud security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) services and solutions with the addition of CloudQuest’s company.

CloudQuest, launched in 2017 by Vijay Sarathy, Nishan Sathyanarayan, and Ramesh Menon, provides a platform for assessing a company’s security and addressing any vulnerabilities that arise. It has Google Cloud Platform (GCP) hierarchy-aware orchestration, which allows it to leverage GCP-specific information, such as the origin of an event or resource access rights, to decide how to manage automation in response to security events.

Joining Deloitte will enable us to expand our capabilities, helping organizations protect against the next generation of security threats, promote continued innovation and agility, and foster more efficient cloud security capabilities. This new chapter is one that my co-founders and I always hoped to achieve, as we worked to help those in the cloud accelerate their cybersecurity efforts.

Vijay Sarathy, co-founder and CEO, CloudQuest, Inc.,

Deborah Golden, principal, US Cyber & Strategic Risk leader at Deloitte, added that their purchase of CloudQuest demonstrated their unwavering commitment to evolving with their customers, fiercely competing in the industry, and actively developing tech-enabled ways that place Deloitte cyber as an undeniable business enabler.

We see incredible opportunity in novel approaches that help organizations securely transform and operate while also realizing competitive advantage, and we’re continually investing in bringing the most innovative solutions to our clients.

Deloitte’s second cyber purchase in 2021, after cyber threat hunter Root9B LLC (R9B), demonstrates the firm’s commitment to assisting customers with threat intelligence and managing evolving cybersecurity challenges.
